How 6-3-5 works
One question. Silent rounds. A secret vote.
6-3-5 Brainwriting is named after the classic setup: 6 people write 3 ideas each in 5-minute rounds and pass their sheets on every time. Nobody pitches and nobody interrupts, so an idea is judged on what it says, not on who wrote it.
Step 1 · The challenge
Agree one question
Tedi helps the team turn the topic into one question, usually starting with “How might we…?”. It goes in the Challenge box on the board, so every sheet answers the same thing.
Step 2 · Silent rounds
Write three ideas, pass the sheet
Everyone writes on their own digital sheet with three columns, in one room or on a Microsoft Teams or Zoom call. Each round you write three ideas, building on what's already on the sheet or starting fresh, then the sheet moves on. Sheets are anonymous, and in a small group Tedi can take a seat and write one too.

Step 3 · Themes and the vote
Sort into themes, then vote in secret
When the rounds end, Tedi sorts every idea into themes on the shared board. Everyone gets three or five dots. Nobody sees the votes until the host reveals them, so nobody piles onto an early favorite, and the top ideas move to Top Ideas.
You leave with
One to three ideas, each with an owner
Tedi leads the discussion of the top ideas until the team picks one to three to pursue, each with an owner and a date in Next Steps. You get the summary afterwards, like every session.
